Judo For Juniors/Teens

Judo involves two people who use the forces of balance, power, and movement to attempt to subdue each other. Judo is a relentless and demanding physical exercise. The practice of judo techniques helps people develop physical fitness in several ways.

Judo is a modern Japanese martial art and combat sport that was developed in the late 19th century by Jigoro Kano. The word “judo” can be translated as “gentle way”, which reflects the principle of using an opponent’s strength and movements against them rather than relying solely on one’s own strength.

In judo, practitioners learn a variety of throws, submission holds, and grappling techniques that are designed to take an opponent down to the ground and immobilize or submit them. Judo also emphasizes the importance of physical and mental discipline, and practitioners are encouraged to develop their character and cultivate a sense of mutual respect and cooperation with their training partners.

Judo has become an Olympic sport and is practiced by millions of people worldwide, both as a martial art and as a competitive sport.
